Group Work: Writing our Treaty

Today we wrote our class treaty after learning about the 'Treaty of Waitangi' and reading a book called 'The Tree House Treaty'.  We discussed why we need a treaty and then got into groups to write rules that we thought were important in our home room and pod.  There were so many rules, too many to remember, so we classified these under headings. And all our rules fitted into one or more of the groupings.
Here is our Te Titiri.
1.  Be kind to others
2. Keep your hands and feet to yourself
3.  Know the right thing to do, and do it
4.  Look after our school environment
5.  Leave valuable and precious things at home
6.  Follow directions straight away
