Cartouche

WALT... produce a decorative Egyptian "cartouche" pendant with our names written in hieroglyphics using 'shrinky dinks The Egyptian cartouche were worn by the pharaohs, kings and queens and other high-ranking people of Ancient Egypt and features their names. It is sort of like a nametag. They encircled their name hieroglyphs with a design that we now call a cartouche.

Shrinky Dinks is a shrink plastic product which creates a plastic pendant for the children to wear. One side of this product is paper like so you can draw and colour using felt pens or coloured pencils. When heated in an oven it reduces by 30% and is really shiny. We will punch a hole in the top of the pendant so that we can thread ribbon through the hole. We will have our own name pendants to wear! Watch out for our finished pendants (cartouche)
