 Autumn Writing By Room 16

Here are just a few of our descriptions.  Come into Room 16 to check out more!

Autumn
The cold wind has been blowing like a hurricane since midnight and the world seems a lot colder.  In the early morning of autumn the wind has died down to a short, sharp breeze and there is not a single leave on the trees.  The snowy glaciers are sliding down the mountains in the thick fog.  In the houses the warm fires are crackling like fireworks in the black of night.  The smoke on the water is glistening in the early morning sun.

Autumn

The grey sky looms over me, the clouds begin to get heavy with rain.  Drops start to fall as all the birds, trees and plants get saturated with icy cold water.
Leaves torpedo to the ground.  Scarlet, orange, yellow and green add to the soft carpet of leaves.  Now the trees are bare.  They shiver as the icy wind whips through them.
Crystal white now creeps down the mountains ready for winter.  The jagged snow line increases by the minute.
Wind whips my face like one million bees stinging me all at once.  It whistles through the air as the temperature begins to drop.  Autumn is arriving and fast.
Smoke from the chimneys burns my throat.  The acid is so strong.  It whirls out of the chimneys and fights hard to warm up the town.  As it dances through the air, the air gets colder and colder.
Birds call frantically as they desperately search for food.  They’re preparing their nests for winter; collecting food for them and their chicks.
The air temperature has dropped, there’s nothing to say about it, Autumn is here!

Autumn has arrived …

Orange, green and red leaves fall off the trees as birds collect berries.  The trees are emptying and getting ready for winter.  The cold, crispy laves fall slowly like a helicopter landing.  Trees wave their branches in the air like they are saying “hello Autumn”.  Translucent clouds drift through the air like a very slow aeroplane.  The sky is getting darker as the clouds drift past.  Freezing cold snow creeps down the mountain like people skiing down the mountain.  The temperature is getting colder and colder.

Autumn
Autumn has arrived.  The red, yellow, orange and gold leaves crunch under our feet, drifting down to the ground like coloured coins.  The leaf blower blows the leaves away. The emptying trees blow around in the calm wind.
The snow slowly creeps down the mountains getting thicker and thicker. I feel the cold, crisp air trickle down my spine.  The cold air makes my lips go purple.
Grey clouds are filling the spaces of the nice warm blue sky.  The wind whips my face and my hair flies everywhere.
The smell of the strong smoke goes up my nose and drifts all around me.
Autumn has come!

Autumn
The mountains have got snow creeping down them.  The mountains turn glistening white with snow.  They sparkle and shimmer in the bright sun.  White snow glides down the side of the mountains drifting from side to side playing in the cold autumn breeze.  It mounds up making huge piles like giant snow monsters rising up from the dead.
The red, fiery leaves crunch under my feet as I step on them.  The emptying trees look like deadly skeletons at night.
I like autumn because it reminds me of Australia and Australia is my favourite country.

Autumn

The leaves tumble to the ground like golden helicopters.  The bare branches wave to me as the wind softly swishes the branches.  The leaves drop as the cold, strong wind passes.  The big pointy mountains let the cold snow creep under their noses.  Even the ever greens turn brown as they die.  I am happy that autumn is here because soon it will be winter.

Autumn
The leaves twirling around like helicopters.  Water dripping down to the ground.  Cold air rushing into my face.  Smoke flowing into my mouth.  Animals finding more homes when earthquakes come.  The branches waving it the air like they are saying hello to Autumn.  I am lying down relaxing looking through the translucent clouds.
